It’s Hard to follow up the Art Of Flight but Travis Rice’s new film, The Fourth Phase, could easily be the most heavily anticipated snowboarding movie of all time. It’s been over four years since His last flick and since then Rice has been off the grid. After taking a season off filming, there was his X Games Real Snow Backcountry entry in 2013, consisting of one run down an Alaska face. There were a few GoPro clips here and there, and a glimmer of hope that Rice would be following up the truly epic Art of Flight. Last year, he blasted out a clip of himself hitting what is possibly the heaviest AK descent ever attempted, appropriately dubbed, “The Crack”.

Aside from from that, and a few other shots, Red Bull Media House has kept photos, footy, and locations from the Fourth Phase in the vault, until now. The film features Rice, Mark Landvik, Mikkel Bang, Eric Jackson, Pat Moore, Bryan Iguchi, and more, but is still scheduled for release a year from now. Rice and crew will be shooting for one more season, so stay tuned for the next epic adventure.

Nike Snowboarding dropped the second chapter from their Nike Snowboarding Project.  Riders like Sage Kotsenburg, Louie Vito, Gjermund Braaten, Jamie Nicholls, Danny Kass, Ethan Morgan, Jan Scherrer, Peetu Piiroinen and Austin Smith destroy the custom park in this beautifully shot short film from Brad Kremer.

Shane McConkey was, is, and always will be that kind of hero to the skiing community. He lived without limit in his pursuit of the next big adventure in skiing, and he did it all with an incredible sense of humor. His iconic alter ego, Saucer Boy, always reminded us that at the end of the day life isn’t measured only in feats, but most importantly by how much fun you had achieving them.

Three years after Shane’s untimely death in 2009, his legend continues to live on and inspire generation after generation of freeskiers. A documentary chronicling his life is set to be released in 2013. After a winter full of skiing, traveling & sleeping in a van, the LINE Traveling Circus is returning for their 4th season. In case you’re not familiar, ringleaders Will Wesson & Andy Parry make their way across the US with fellow ski-bums in search of snow. The entertaining DIY series even earned the LINE Traveling Circus the first-ever prestigious award of “Best Webisode” at the International Freeskiing Film Festival.
