If you’re not a wuss like me and saw Paranormal Activity 2 over the weekend, you probably haven’t slept since….not because you were scared sh*tless, but because you can’t stop thinking about the amazing sunglasses “Ali” was wearing in the beginning of the movie;
Well now you can rest easy…those are none other than the Ashbury Daytrippers! (As you can see by Ali’s lime green nails, she’s pretty hip. Perhaps she heads over to Mountain High when she doesn’t feel like being terrorized by a house full of baby-snatching demons?)
EV’s got the Daytripper in White, Black, and Lizard King’s model (green, like Ali’s manicure) along with the Psychedelic Lollipop, Crenshaw, and some of their 2011 goggles. Snag some before the rest of Hollywood catches on!
Mellow Monday

Between the snow in Killington, the Broadway Bomb, and the F’ It premiere in SoHo this past weekend has been pretty crazy. This nice, mellow track from La Sera should help aid in your recovery (without putting you to sleep at your desk)…
Never Come Around – La Sera
La Sera is the solo project of Katy Goodman, and is signed to indie label Hardly Art. The track you just heard, along with a second song “Behind Your Eyes” will be available on 7″ on November 16.
Happy listening!
F* IT Premiere NYC
On 22, Oct 2010 | No Comments | In Events, Videos | By Lisa
This Saturday, the North America F* It tour moves on to Day 3 with simultaneous stops in Portland and NYC. Stevie Bell, Cameron Pierce, Jake Welch, Austen Sweetin, and Peter Line will be stopping by the Williamette Riverfront Warehouse over in Oregon, while over here on the left coast, Nic Suave, Pat Moore, John Jackson, Andreas Wiig, and Niko Cioffi will be busy f***ing up the Red Bull Space in SoHo.
F’ It is the 7th team-inspired film from Special Blend, Forum, and Foursquare and a shop-favorite here at EV. If you haven’t already seen it, the movie’s pretty much what you’d expect from the title: hilarious, inappropriate, and all-around badass. (If you’re already a fan, why not grab some of our gear from the F’ It Collection for this weekend….who knows, it might earn you special line-cutting privileges)
Doors open at 9pm (or 8pm if you’re VIP-status) so if you’re down to watch some snowboarding and enjoy an adult beverage or two, we’ll see you there!
It’s Party Time

Well, well, well…
…if it isn’t the Capita Party Shark!
Just opened up our shipment from Capita (thanks for those Atomic Fireballs, C3!), and was psyched to see the graphics from Corey Smith & co. in person. Along with the Shark, we’ve got the tipsy & topless pandas of the Stairmaster EXTREME, some vicious space monsters attacking the Horrorscope FK, and a slightly-retro, stylish Saturnia for us ladies.
Capita’s boards have been featured in this season’s Good Wood and Best of Test, so if you’re looking for a quality board at a good price (most under $360!), head over to the Board Room and check out the rest of our 2011 CAPiTA boards
Eastern Snowboard League
On 01, Oct 2010 | No Comments | In Events, News | By Lisa
Happy October, EV fans! Fall is in full-swing and today we’ve got even more news to throw at you. As if the steady flow of snow video releases and shipments of new product isn’t teasing you enough, today is the official launch of ESL’s website.
ESL, which stands for Eastern Snowboard League, is a new series of contests that’ll have every rider this side of the Mississippi buzzing. Thanks to Junior Kantor of The Program (Forum, Foursquare, Special Blend), Joel Rerko of 7 Springs Terrain Parks, Ian Oliver of Big Boulder Park, and Pat Morgan of Holiday Valley’s 42/78 Parks, all right-coast riders will have a chance to earn major bragging rights and some pretty cool prizes too.
ESL will make a stop at each of the resorts mentioned above, and allow contestants to compete in Pro or Am divisions; ‘Destroyer’ for our region’s finest and ‘Youngblood’ for the best of the rest. Each location’s top 3 Destroyers will walk away with $$$, and the Youngblood winners will get tons of sponsor swag. At the end of the series, however, the #1 riders overall will win entry to Superpark at Mammoth Mountain, CA (Destroyer division) or 1 week at Woodward Copper (Youngblood division). With payoffs that huge, we’re gonna be seeing some serious snowboarding this season.
Along with highlighting the East’s riding talent, ESL gives its resorts’ park crews the chance to show off their skills. The guys at 7-Springs Terrain Parks, big boulder PARK, and 42/78 Parks will be building whatever features their little hearts desire, displaying their home mountain’s signature style. 7-Springs and big boulder have already been recognized as 2 of the East Coast’s top 5 parks by Transworld Snowboarding, so the inevitable attempts to out-do each other should have some impressive results.
The madness will ensue on January 15 up at Holiday Valley, so prepare yourselves accordingly. Next stop is at Big Boulder on February 5 (where I’ll be a live witness) and last but not least will be the 7-Springs contest on February 19. ESL’s combination of talented, dedicated founders & sponsor support has definitely laid the groundwork for an all-around awesome series of contests this winter. Now mark your calendars & pray for snow!

Volcom’s 9191 NYC Premiere
On 23, Sep 2010 | No Comments | In Events, Videos | By Lisa
The temperature’s barely dropped below 70 here in Jersey, but we’re already well into video premiere season. Volcom’s 9191 was the latest to roll through the NYC area, so naturally several of EV’s finest went to check it out at the Anthology Film Archive in the East Village.
9191 is described as “a mathematical equation of sideways style” and was inspired by the travels of Gigi Ruf. (Other riders featured include Wille Yli-Luoma, Bryan Iguchi, Luke Mitrani, Curtis Ciszek, and Blair Habenicht.) Personally, I was most excited to hear the soundtrack created especially for the film, but was really blown away by the overall combination of elements. The riding was intense and the camera angles emphasized just how immense & impressive Gigi’s backcountry riding is. Cinematography that blended super 8 footage and trippy effects effortlessly won over the artsy crowd and succeeded creating a signature style that never overwhelmed the riding. All of this, with a breathtaking backdrop and set to Baron’s alternately metal/haunting score made 9191 a unanimous hit for all of us. (Plus Gigi was nice enough to sign a poster for the EV Board Room)
We advise you to see it ASAP–afterwards, expect an immediate desire to watch it again, rock Gigi’s signature Volcom line, and d/l the soundtrack on iTunes. For now, feast your eyes on the official trailer;
